Black and White photography has a special place in my heart from the first days of developing Black and White film in my darkroom. That’s how I envision my work as an art piece hanging on your wall, or displayed in a luxurious Exhibit Box.
When
I’ve found that the best time for a portrait session is between 32-34 weeks, (although I have taken portraits just a few days prior to a woman’s delivery, I would not recommend that!) Sessions usually take place in the morning time.
The Mood
Scented candles, soft music, herbal tea and healthy snacks all contribute to a relaxed welcoming atmosphere here at W.O.M.B studio.
Makeup and Hair
The session includes a professional female makeup artist who applies very natural looking makeup to your face and belly. She evens out your skin and covers veins, stretch marks, small tattoos(if you want to cover) and the dark line on the belly. Light hair styling is also included and we ask that you come with clean dry hair ready for natural styling.
The Session
When you come in, we will sit down and discuss some specifics of your session including your coverage comfort zone. You would fill out a few short forms and get into a clean robe and slippers. Once you sit in a lazy boy while your makeup is being applied, it’s time to just RELAX…
When your makeup and hair are done, you will be ‘clothed’ in fabrics and I will start ‘clicking’ !
Outfits
I use various fabrics tied in different ways around you. Everything is clean and washed between sessions. If family members are joining:
For adult males or boys-
Dark jeans/pants+Khaki pants and a dark and light solid color tee shirt or Polo shirt. (Please no button down collar shirts as it doesn’t look good with the fan blowing). No shirt is also a great option depending on personal comfort.
For adult females or girls-
Using my fabrics is optional or bring a light color/dark solid color dress or if pants are preferred please follow male wardrobe instructions.
Nudes
Nudes are an option we could do if you wish. It is very beautiful. If you decide to do nudes, know that everything is tasteful and is only ‘implied nudity’, which means no private areas will show.
What to bring
Other than outfits for anyone joining the session (see section above), please bring:
1) A strapless skin color bra
2) Skin color underwear
Both solid color, no patterns.
Nails etc…
For nails please apply either light or pastel polish, French manicure or clear. And don’t forget to shave/wax :)
Family
You’re welcome to bring your partner and/or other children or family members to the session for no additional fee, although it’s preferred that they join you after your makeup is done to allow for some ‘relaxation time’. In the event they would require makeup and hair services, an additional fee will apply. Please inquire.
How long
Sessions usually take about 3-4 hours including makeup time, but that varies. Some women need to take more frequent bathroom brakes or just to sit and put their feet up. That is why I do not schedule sessions close to one another. You can take your time…
Viewing the images
Once the pictures are ready, you will be invited for a ‘viewing session’, either at the studio, or if you’re not too far from the studio and cannot come in I can come to you. The viewing session is where you will get a first look at the best images from your shoot. You will then be offered the option to select what you would like to purchase, either wall portraits from the A-La-Carte menu, a beautiful Italian elegant collection box, or a combination of both! Please make sure that anyone that is an important part of the ‘decision making process’ is present at the viewing session. All images are printed on top of the line archival art papers. You can order as many or as little as you like. No hard-selling. What you purchase is entirely up to you.
The Value of a Printed Photograph
What you’re going to do with your images is perhaps the most important aspect to consider when you’re planning for a photo session, but it’s all too often the aspect that is overlooked…all that time and money invested deserve a better return than photos gathering dust on a hard drive somewhere. You’ll probably never get the same feeling looking at your photos on a screen as you will seeing them on your wall every day, or printed in a beautiful Art collection box. That’s why, I sell only physical print enlargements, and the correlating digital files are added free of charge to accompany each print purchased.

Rates
A Sitting fee is $675 and includes makeup, hair, all the fabrics and the photo session itself.
A-La-Carte prints start at $275, and Elegant collection boxes start at $1,200.
Payment arrangements available upon request. No minimum purchase required.
